They even tussle for a spot sometimes, since perching space is limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"830\" height=\"818\" src=\"https:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/starling-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-558\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/starling-3.jpg 830w, https:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/starling-3-300x296.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/starling-3-768x757.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/starling-3-45x45.jpg 45w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 830px) 100vw, 830px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the remarkable features of this old graveyard is that there&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/index.php\/corner-churches\/\">church located at each corner<\/a> of the block on which it sits. From the bird&#8217;s perspective, these four different crosses offer an attractive choice of rest stops with advantageous views, well above the treetops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"830\" height=\"622\" src=\"https:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/boat-tail-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-552\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/boat-tail-3.jpg 830w, https:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/boat-tail-3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.megforward.com\/birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/boat-tail-3-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 830px) 100vw, 830px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve seen a variety of different species perch on these crosses. They are particular favorites of the <strong>Boat-Tailed Grackle<\/strong>, a bird that is also comfortable perched atop masts of large sailing yachts at the marinas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
